I checked the FAQs but this point is not clear for me:

If you provide application hosting for your customers, they do not install Aware IM and do not need any licenses.

My question is: Can i host customers applications over local area network [Not over the Internet], for example a company in the same building, or an organization away from me but i can link them with me by WIMAX network.
So i can work with no need for user license.

Can I host applications for my customers?

Yes. You can use a licensed Aware IM Server (not Aware IM Runtime engine) to run applications used by your customers over the Internet. This is considered your internal business use. You are not required to purchase user licenses for customers who use the hosted applications.

Only over the internet? or it is possible to host my customers in my building throw LAN?

When you host your application for your customers, your customers do not need a license, irrespective of how they get access to the system - via the Internet or via LAN. Only employees of your company need licenses.

Thanks so much, but to be honest, still confused!
Why any company going to order Aware IM [Department] = 2600$ when it can get a better options for 166$ [Developer Edition]?
I mean: Aware IM Department has 50 user license, on the other hand Aware IM Developer with hosting option has no limit for users! so the company can host it self and save 1000$ :!:
Please help me because user license issue is really complicated for me and i face difficulties to understand it 🙁

Correction: when it can get a better options for 1600$ [Developer Edition]?

The Developer Edition only covers up to 10 internal users (developers), i.e. employees of the company who will be developing applications. The Department Edition covers up to 50 internal users. External customers of the company who purchase Aware IM license do not need licenses - whether it's the Developer Edition or the Department Edition. Hope it clarifies the issue.
