Support you may be unaware of how powerful this feature is! Another one of your many gems that I just love.
I actually present and use it as a simplified Gantt chart. Doesn't show dependancies and all that stuff of course but the scheduler is a very powerful way of presenting data. All you need to do for a Gantt chart look a like is to add the attribute you want to display as a reference back to each record off the original BO. Have I confused you? An example might be best.
Simple project of building a house.
Set up a Project Stages BO (appointment) as :
- Clear land.
- Build house.
- Paint house.
Set the dates for each of these project stages using the start and end times on the appointment BO.
Now set up a BO called say Stage Gantt. It needs just one attribute called Stage name. There needs to be one instance of this BO for each instance of the Project Stage BO.
Stage name = the description of each project stage above.
Then set up the Stage Gantt as a reference for the Project Stage BO. One to one relationship.
Write a scheduler query for Project Stages and select the Stage Gantt as the reference. Pick the Stage Name as the attribute to show.
So you end up with a scheduler query that display like a gantt chart with the stage names down the left hand side and the stages shown graphically as in a Gantt chart! Woo Hoo
Its actually a dynamic gantt chart as you can change the dates, run process from it and edit the stages etc!
The ONLY thing I would like to be able to do is to change the Start Date in the date selection box in the top right hand corner to that of the project start date and not the current date!
Support this would be a nice feature for the scheduler generally if we could change the start date from the current date. Anyway of doing that? Would be nice to be able to use a date say off the SystemSettings BO.
Cheers Rod
