XML returned from the server does not have 'root' element

Getting this error with ONE instance of a business object when trying to open the standard edit form for it. I have checked the data in the MySql table - pasted below - not an & in sight - only @ is in the email address field. Checked the data and all required fields contain data and nothing else seems to be contrary to any rules or checks I have in place - so any ideas where else I should be looking? Thanks!

I have discovered that this was the only instance in the MySql table that had no value in BASTIMESTAMP - why I can't say but I am assuming that this could have caused the issue. As this instance doesn't carry a lot of data I'll just delete it and create from scratch - BUT for future reference and others out there - what would be the best way to fix it?

This is strange. BASTIMESTAMP shouldn't have caused it - it must be the data containing some funny characters, some of them could be even invisible unless you use some sort of a binary editor. So you need to inspect the record more carefully.
