Hi,
I am testing the AwareIM software right now to see if it suits our needs.
Even though I watched all tutorials and had a look at the different documentations I am still kind of new to this whole thing.
My testing scenario is a kind of commission management application.
I got three business objects:
The customers are already setup in the system and they have a reference field to their corresponding commission recipient.
The sales get imported from an external system via CSV file.
The sales object has a customer-id attribute.
What I would like to do:
1.) If a sale gets imported, the system should check whether the customer-ID matches an existing customer and his cutomer-id.
2.) If yes - the sale should get listed in the "Sales" section of the customer form. (I already created this sales section).
3.) For all customer sales coming from a customer that belongs to a certain commission recipient the commission should get calculated based on a percentage of the sales price. The percentage is an attribute of the commission recipient object.
All sales and the corresponding commission should get listed in the "Commissions" section of the commission recipient.
I set up the BO and their corresponding attributes and created the needed form sections etc.
I also tested the import of sales.
All good.
But I get a kind of lost, when it now comes to define rules (or would it be a process?) for my scenario.
I tried by comparing the "Ordering" example, as there also is some sort of assigning orders to a customer, but the difference is, that the currently logged in user creates orders. In my scenario the orders (here sales) get imported.
Could you please point me in the right direction
1.) if I would need to work with rules or with processes
2.) to which business object I would need to add rules
3.) what kind of rules syntax to use
Thank you very much for any input you might be able to give me.
I got a meeting tomorrow, where I realy would like to give my collegues a heads up, if AwareIM might be a good fit.
Bye,
