Counting the total of objects in a group.

Hi their i want to calculate the total of records in a grouping in my Report.

I used the following in my Report COUNT SectorProfile to do the calculations, it counts all the records thought & not just the total record per group.

Want it to displays as follow in the Report :

Medical

Dr de Wet 7 Poteer str
Dr Olivier 10 Kater str

Total Records : 2

Accounting

POT Accounting 45 Reeds str

Total Records : 1

Hi,

I assume you've set up a group band. So in the group footer, place the attribute with <<COUNT SectorProfile >>

Then click right mouse button and click Properties

Click the Conditions tab.

Click the properties button next to the word TAG
Click "Evaluation Details" button

Click the radio buttons " Expression will iterate over the objects in the report only AND in the square box "At the End of the group" then select the group name in the drop down

All should then be well with the world

Thanx alot, fot the assistance. I tried as you adviced. It`s counts the number of groups though instead of the total number or records under each group.

What is the name of the BO containing

Is this called SectorProfile or is this an attribute of a different BO? Without knowing your actual BO and attribute names it is difficult to advise, but here is an example from my own BO.

I have a BO called Members an an attribute called MemType and I want to count the number of members for each MemType. So I create a query to FIND ALL Members ORDER BY Members.MemType

Then in my report I create a group band which I call MembershipTypes that changes when Members.MemType changes

In the detail section I put Members.Firstname and Members.LastName and in the GROUP FOOTER for Membership Types I put <<COUNT Members>>

This works for me. Hope it helps
