Reference attributes that are drop downs. It would be AWESOME to have a little icon display to the right hand side of the drop down that when clicked will take you to the record.

It would be good to be able to configure this with the usual things:

display or hide it
open in popup or new tab or default
choose the icon you want

We are ALWAYS putting buttons on the top of forms to do this. For example you are on an Invoice form and you have the Customer as the drop down - we make a button "View Customer"

kind of a hack, but I think you could put an Aware Link in the help description for a attribute. I currently use this to provide a link which places video instead of text.

Another option would be to do the same but as HTML in the form in the column next to or above the Ref.

Admittedly neither of these are as slick as what you suggest.
