I'm not sure I understand the relationships.

A particular instance of B may reference a particular instance of A and other instances of B need to reference the same instance of A. What's the setting for this type of arrangement?

I have the B reference attribute set to 'Peer' and 'Multiples' not allowed. It appears that if I insert an instance of A into the B attribute and then insert that same instance of A into the same attribute in another instnce of B the A instance disappears from the first B instance.

To further explain. Instances of A and B as follows:

1 1
2 2
3 3
4 4
5 5

Instances 1,3, and 4 of B need to reference instance 1 of A. Instances 2,4, and 5 of B need to reference instance 3 of A. What is the proper setup for this situation if there is one?

A should be set to "Multiples Allowed"
B should be set to "Multiples NOT allowed

When adding B's to A's use INSERT B IN A.ref_attribute

Consider each BO separately.

For A you are saying you want any number of B's to be linked to an A - therefore for A you need to say that you want to allow multiple( ie more than one "B" object.

For B it is the reverse. You want to say that you only want ONE A to be linked to a B therefore multiples A's should NOT be allowed

For the coding we use INSERT to put items into an A type attribute (multiples allowed) and we can INSERT more than one B (think of it like inserting more than one sheet of paper into an envelope.

For a B type (multiples NOT allowed we can use a simple B.A_ref = A which will REPLACE whatever was already in B.A_ref with a single A instance
