EDIT, PROCESS EDIT AND DISPLAY MESSAGE

Hi everybody,

Here am i again! Hope you all can help me as you always do...

First:
In my application, queries are open in a NEW TAB and BO's are edited in default(overwritting the query).

I have a BO that after being edited, should ask the user if he wants to send an e-mail to notify another user.

I tried 2 differents ways and none of them were satisfatory..
1)
Instead of using EDIT BO in query, i used a process like that

EDIT BO
DISPLAY QUESTION
IF QUESTION.REPLY='YES'
NOTIFY USER

This works, but the BO has to be edited using popup, so it differs from every other BO in the application and it doesn't show my OPERATIONS(awful)

2)
I used EDIT BO in query, and in ther rules i tried:

IF NOT(BO IS NEW AND BO WAS CHANGED)
DISPLAY QUESTION
IF QUESTION.REPLY='YES'
NOTIFY USER

This one doesn't work because i can't start a DISPLAY QUESTION in a RULE.

Is there a way out of this without differing this BO from ALL the others?!!??!

Why don't you use a "Notify User" attribute in your BO ?
NotifyUser as Yes/No Type. You can add a rule to your BO like " if BO.NotifyUser=Yes Then SEND NotifyUserEmail to Staff"
Add this field to sour form and User will have to choice to inform Staff or not.

I've done something similar by allowing users to select a reference list of users to email from a particular BO.

That email list can either be:

pre-populated, then allow the user to remove people they don't want to send to
built from scratch each time
a list of people who have "followed" or "flagged" a particular transaction that they want to remain "in the loop" about

This in not what I was expecting, but it's a pretty good solution. I've made some layout tests and it fits.

Although I really suggest developers think a future solution for that. It's really a dead end. We have to choose: show the questions or show operations...

But anyway, thanks POWERM. I'll use your solution
