Sending Email To Customer

Goody day everyone..

My client have more than 10,000 customer record with email address.

How do I sent the Marketing Email to the Customer 1000 in every 1 hour? This is due to the Email Server Constraint.. only can sent 1000 email for every hourly only.

please advice how to write the process?

When click this process...

Find Customer orderby customer.id asc in batches of 1000.. [found 10,000 records]
send email
process start running....

how do I stop the process in such after 1,000 customer record and continous after 60 minutes for the next 1000 record?

If this can do it, i will post the BSV file for everyone...

One possible solution - there are probably others.

Cleats an attribute EmailSent (yes/no) set initially to No

Find customers where customers.EmailSent = No take best 1000
Then send your email
Then set the EmailSent=Yes

Do the process again every hour until all the emails sent

When all the emails sent reset the EmailSent=No

I've done something similar to what RocketMan describes. It's called Email Throttling in case someone is searching on that topic.

One other way is to tag each record with a "Send After" time stamp. The time stamps can be calculated to meet your throttling requirements.

A scheduled process would then retrieve all instances that are after the "Send After" time stamp.

I am thinking of this too. But I cannot go to click the Process every hour.... Because customer want to run auto after he/she click the Process... until run throughout the night.. e.g. 10pm to next day 10am to completed all the email sending out for every hour...
Is there a way to run the process to auto-run every hourly?
