Most sites are now adding a Facebook login so the user does not have to register for each site. Its a fact that if potential customers have a facebook login, they will more likely go to your site and we think this is hugely important to grow a customer base.

Currently we have an HTML page which then calls AwareIM and brings them to our registration page.

We would like to have a Facebook Login and if the user is already registered to log them into AwareIM.

If they are not registered, we want to go into AwareIM and AUTO fill out our registration record. We then may require 1 or 2 things to be filled out that are not available from Facebook.

Facebook as an API to do this but we are not familiar with java and exactly what they are saying.

Has anyone done this, and if so, could you provide and explanation.

Here's an alternative solution.

I have given my customers two customisable tabs (mytab1 and Mytab2). In their own user record they have two plain text attributes big enough to store a URL.

When the user clicks the tab, the system calls that URL and the page is displayed in that tab area.

In the absense of any other suggestions, hope this helps

I'm not quite sure what you were saying. A Facebook login button is for both new and existing members but it makes it easier for a new member to sign up. So the goal is a Facebook login button on a regular HTML page which call AwareIM and registers them automatically or logs them in.

As I mentioned, Facebook as an API to do this but I am not sure exactly how to go about it with AwareIM.

Anyone with this experience is appreciated.
