Hi,
Okay, I will share my hard won knowledge but please don't inundate me with questions about soap.
You can download a sample host bsv and a corresponding client bsv from http://www.iportcentral.com/AwareIM/SoapDemo_Host-Client.zip
You will need to load and login to the host as an admin user and create several master products then shut down your AwareIM Server and then re-start it which should expose your wsdl file. After you have discovered the wsdl file in the client bsv, login to the client and create an instance of the intelligent object. You will likely find that if you discover the wsdl file it will create duplicate BO's. If so, just go back and delete those BO's and re-rediscover them.
The sample client bsv is then able to suck in any of the products being exposed by the host. Any changes to these master products in the client will automatically be reflected in the host. Any new products that are created in the client will automatically be added to the host. If new products exists in the host or changes have been made to products in the host, the update/sync operation will delete all instances of the client products and replace them instantly with the new and revised host products.
A couple of comments:
-The documentation by AwareIM regarding web services is frankly quite awful. It is sketchy, inaccurate and totally frustrating. Sorry to be a little negative here but the truth is the truth. AwareIM in general however remains to be entirely awesome - both the company and the product!
Calling a web service exposed by an Aware IM system and using arrays from another Aware IM system doesn't work. This is only a problem if you call it from an Aware IM system. Normally you would call it from a third party application. Anyway, the bug is fixed and if you want to test it fully you can download a patch http://www.awareim.com/awareim.jar (you should be running the latest build 1642 before applying the patch).
A host object in the client BSV should have an intelligence type "Software System", rather than an "Aware IM system". In fact, an Aware IM system should no longer be used at all. This is not documented.
Sending multiple objects as parameters by the client is not supported by AwareIM. That is why I went with the dynamic additions and modifications in the client. Theoretically however, if the client is not an AwareIM product, they should be able to modify and add multiple products to the host at the same time.
I am providing these samples as-is. I will answer any questions that I can in this forum but I am not an expert in this area. If you have any problems, get out your midnight candles and your wallets for the AwareIM support team as I did.
Good luck,
cheers,
Pete
