Strange problem with DELETE

Hi,

If I do this:

DISPLAY Wedstrijd WHERE Wedstrijd.TeamARef=ThisTeam

the system shows me a list with ONE record. This is OK.

When I do this:

FIND Wedstrijd WHERE Wedstrijd.TeamARef=ThisTeam
DELETE Wedstrijd

then the DELETE deletes ALL records in the Wedstrijd table.

Why? I put the Wedstrijd in the right context first, and then I delete the desired record. It looks like there is something wrong with the context.

Check the log viewer. Your context must have all objects in there

The example above is the last rule of a more complex process. In this process the BO Wedstrijd is put in another context first and used for other operations.

After these operations are finished I want to do some deletes. Thats why I have this last rule. So I put the Wedstrijd in the right context again and then I delete some records.

I assume that I can change the context of a BO several times in a process or am I wrong???

The logging says:

One process has one context. Aware IM only adds to the context and never removes objects from the context

Ok, I understand.

But then, why does the DISPLAY show only one record and the DELETE deletes more (all records)
There is still a difference somehow.

You are asking AwareIM to display one specific instance here - whereas with

FIND Wedstrijd WHERE Wedstrijd.TeamARef=ThisTeam

You are finding one instance which is then being added to what's already there. So, if you did two finds one after the other

FIND Wedstrijd WHERE Wedstrijd.TeamARef=ThisTeam
FIND Wedstrijd WHERE Wedstrijd.TeamARef=ThatTeam

You would end up with two BO's in context

Hi,
You need to introduce a process into your process chain that does not carry over the Wedstrijd in context. Then when your next process finds the one Wedstrijd, it will be the only one in context and the only one deleted.

As a programmer I always struggle a little with the context thing. I'm thinking in datasets a.s.o.

Working with 'a process in a process' works fine and my problem is solved now.
