Display different value than what is stored in DB

I have a BO with an Attribute that is receiving data from an outside system. The attribute takes in different job types. An example of the types are as follows:

A - CEO
B - CFO
C - CTO

I would like to display 'CEO' instead of 'A' in grids where this data is required for display.

From what I can see I can only change icons or adjust formatting of the look and feel based on the data and not have something display instead of the static value received and stored in the database.

Is this possible?

Can you create another attribute which will hold CEO and set it with a rule?

Yes. That would work. I just wasn't sure if there was another way since I am dealing with 40,000+ records and I have at least 10 attributes that are setup in this same way. It will be a large amount of database bloat that I would love to avoid.

Not sure if it would create less bloat, but you could also make it a reference attribute & shortcut in the value you want to display in the query.

Good thought Tom...certainly would reduce rules and bloat.
