Migration Database

Good day..

I have using the default Database.. How do I migrate to SQL Server?

Can U export the script (Insert...) and import to SQL Server?

Anyone have done this?

I haven't tried it, but I believe this would work:

1. Export the BSV
2. Export the data for each of the Business Objects (BO) using the operation mode of your App (see example app System menu for export/import BO)
3. Change the database using the Settings in AwareIM control panel
4. Create a new empty Business Space(BS)
5. Import the Business Space using the operation mode of your App

Any better ideas out there :?:

2. Export the data for each of the Business Objects (BO) using the operation mode of your App (see example app System menu for export/import BO)
3. Change the database using the Settings in AwareIM control panel
4. Create a new empty Business Space(BS)
5. Import the Business Space using the Configuration Tool
6. Import each BO data set using the operation mode of your App

P.S. Don't forget the relationship files!

If I export the database from the Operation Mode.. and later import back to database to the New BSV file. the whole ID number will change right?

Take a lot of time because I only have 2 hours to download and upload the files to SQL Server as my client need to use the system. There are more than 20K database overall

I have some problem here because some short cut reference link has many link BO...
e.g. BO for InvoiceEmployeeMarketing, I have the shortcut for CustomerName...
MyInvoicePaymentID.MyInvoiceMarketingID.MyInvoiceHeaderID.MyCustomerID.CustomerFulleName...

When I export out..I put the same link for the CustomerName but error to import in... state that the link too long...any advice?

Any way using any database tools and generate the SQL Insert Statement and upload to the SQL Server and remain all the ID Number..

:idea: A generic database migration tool would be very useful

e.g. point the migration tool to the current Aware IM database(Derby) and the intended Aware IM database(MS SQL) press go and it copies the data across

and the rest of whatever is required... but you know the idea 🙂
