Testing Business Space

I have built and installed an executable at a customer site.

The live business space is installed but the Testing space only has 4 table in it being:

bas_idgen, domains, domainversions, dvhistories, execution_contexts

Is this not created automatically? If not how do I create it so that they can test changes before applying them to there live database.

after rebuild the exe file and install the customer place and activate the server first, let the system create the database.
export your final BSV file.
at the customer place, shut down the AwareIM Server...
put your file on the folder "Auto Deployment"
activate your AwareIM server.

That is.. your application is on Live now..

Next time, you change your BSV file:

Shut down the AwareIM Server
Remember to backup the whole database first (normally I backup the whole AwareIM Folder).
Put the new BSV file under Auto Depolyment
Activate your AwareIM Server.
That it, you new BSV take impact...

Testing mode is not supposed to be used by clients using the runtime and it's always blank.

But I'm talking about the Test Database not creating. The Live (Main) database is ok

I want the customer to be able to log into testing mode to test a new bsv prior to it being put into Live.

The only way to do this is to get him to work with the Configuration Tool and put the BSV under test

Another option would be to create a second business space for him called something like 'Sandbox' for testing purposes.

related to this topic and would also benefit this situation: on my 'wish list' is a the ability to 'publish to test' so I can work with a test version in real-time without upgrading production. With my app growing in complexity it's really helpful to be able to go through the entire app making revisions as I go instead of going in and out of test mode. Very helpful for final tweaks, and polishing.

I think I am going to use Pete's idea for now, so thanks for the idea!

They have a 300 user runtime so no configuration tool.

So they would need to buy another runtime and set it up as the test runtime/database.
