Mail error

I have an application that sends out emails. The SMTP settings are defined in the System Settings Object.

Sometimes sending works, but sometimes I get the following error:

This is without changing any settings.

Anyone an idea what the error means and how to solve this?

If it was working before, I would reboot your server and/or AwareIM as a starting point.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but I still get these errors every now and then. Not only for this application (i'm running several applications on the same server) but also for other ones.

Either your e-mail server requires authentication and you are not providing the correct credentials or your "from address" is not recognised by your e-mail server. The "from address" must be the address that is registered on the e-mail server

I will double check my settings once more.

sometimes working/sometimes error to me sounds more like a hiccup in the network or on the server itself. If the settings we're wrong I would expect 100% failure.
