Good day

I am learning how to connect the AwareIM to Windows SQL Server... so my data can store under SQL Server...

Can anyonw show me the step how to do the connection?

If I create the View on SQL Server, can AwareIM BO able to retrieve out?

The installation manual shows you how to set up te connection. When using a SQL server database you can set up BO's as tables or views by using the existing external BO type. Using views is another of the powerful features of AwareIM, allowing you to build more complex queries outside of AwareIM.

Good day everyone..

I have problem with the connection of SQL Server.

I got this error:

Unable to connect to the existing database Could not establish connection with the data base BASDB

In the Database Properties:
I have select SQL Server
User Name: sa
Password: Pa55word
Machine Name: localhost
Port: 1433
Main Database: BASDB
Test Database: BASDBTEST
Instance Name: SQLExpress

In the SQL Express, TCPIP Enable, Server Authentication
In the Firewall, allowed for Port Number 1433 already
From the SQL Server Management Studio, after enter the login and password, I can access the System Database.

Where go wrong?

Do I need to create the BASEDB and BASETEST inside the SQL Server? Or it will automatically created?

Why AwareIM "Unable to create database BASDB Unable to get information from SQL Server: localhost. exiting..."??

Where go wrong? Any setting I need to set?

Try taking out the instance name completely...leave blank.

Hello

I managed to use my developer license to connect to SQL Express.
The database created on SQL Server as BASDB and BASTEST too.
But why my license become 30days and become Enterprise Edition now?
Does it mean my Developer License cannot connect SQL Express Server?
Anything I did wrong?

I understand the SQL Server option is only required for the full version of SQL server as stated in the installation manual. For SQL Express you do not need the option. Your licence issue I believe is due to the fact that you changed your DB. If you change the DB for your developers installation after having previously obtained a licence key then you need to obtain a new licence key from AwareIM.

Support am I correct on the SQL Express as I am using it myself and so far it is operating ok?

Only the full version of SQL Server is an option. SQL Server Express should be available as part of your standard license, but using a different database requires a new product key for this database.

Good day... share with everyone that I have explored...

Download SQL Express from http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/en/us/editions/express.aspx
Perform the installation of the SQL Express with SQL Server Authentication -> Enter the password, User ID default as "sa". Select all function for the installation. Take note of the instance name you entered. The default is SQLEXPRESS.
Go to SQL Server Configuration Tools -> SQL Server Services - Stop the SQL Server and SQL Server Browser
Go to SQL Server Configuration Tools -> SQL Server Network Configuration - Protocols for SQL Express -> Enable the TCP/IP
Go to SQL Server Configuration Tools -> SQL Server Serives - Start the SQL Server and SQL Server Browser
Using ODBC Connection to Test whether SQL Server workable -> User DNS or System DNS -> Add -> Select SQL Server -> Enter a Name say "SQLDB" -> At the Which SQL Server do you want to connect to? -> Drop down -> you will see MachineName/SQLEXPRESS -> Click Next -> With SQL Authentication -> Enter Login ID as "sa" and your password -> Click Next -> Click Next -> Click Test Data Source -> Your will see "Test Completed Succesfully. Well done, the SQL Server is found and connected.
Now go to AwareIM, Database. Database Engine -> SQL Server; Enter User Name "sa" and your password; Machine Name -> Your Machine Name; Port -> Blank; Instance Name: SQLEXPRESS. Shut down the AwareIM and active again. AwareIM will create the BASDB and BASDTEST on the SQL Server, the file is located at the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA.
Logon to SQL Server Management Studio, you will also can see the BASDB and BASTEST too.

Take Note:
If SQL Port is 1433, you need to open the port in the FireWall too if the connection fail.

If the ODBC Connection cannot find the SQL Server you have installed, mean AwareIM will fail to connect too.
