Expressions in tags embedded in Word docs

I have documents of the normal Report type in which I use expressions to combine text fields with no problems. When I embed identical tags in a Word doc, the expressions all display blank. If I simplify the tags to each contain a single attribute, that works fine.

I am trying to use expressions like LastName + ', ' + FirstName. First, it balked at the single quote characters, suggesting I use the accent character below ~ to include apostrophes, so I removed those as part of debugging. It fails on even the simplest expression such as PAD_RIGHT(LastName).

Are there documented rules about this, or is it an unanticipated behavior?

I would appreciate knowing one way or the other, so I can move on.

By the way, I am using version 5.1, Developer, build 1425.

You are probably doing something wrong and it's hard to say what. Please check the output of the Aware IM server for any clues on the problem.

I always go for simplicity as it saves lots of time. In this instance I would do your formatting within AwareIm and present to Word single attributes such as <<Print Name>> or <<Print Address>>.
