External JPG in Document Template

Hello Forum!

I have been working with AwareIm 5.1 and it is soooooooo great! Really. So far I have done everything that I needed.

At this point I have a Document Template that print an Invoice. So far, so good. But I need to print an image that comes from an especific local folder. The image file name has the same name as the invoice that Im printing.

Example:
Im printing the invoice no: 504
So I print it and it should include image 504.jpg
If I insert an image element it only permits to indicate the image file name, but it will always show the same image.

Is there a way to show the required image insted of the same one?

Use the image in an attribute of the Picture type. Then refer to this attribute in your document, rather than inserting an image explicitly:

<<MyObject.MyImage>>

At runtime this will be replaced with a specific image that is stored in the attribute.

I would like to make it automatic, so the record, once saved, it will automaticly save the file route. Example:

BO.picturefield

In a RULE, I insert this command:
BO.picturefield='C:\Users\lineacero\Desktop\'+BO.Refence+'.jpg'
Then I test the form, but I get an error:
"Internal error java.lang.string" Here Im missing somenthing, but I don´t know where to look.

You cannot assign a picture attribute from a string - Aware IM wouldn't know that you are trying to initialise it from a file.

Check out the IMPORT DOCUMENT command - this is what you may need to use.

It worked perfectly.

With your help, Im now able to import a bidimensional barcode, that is generated by another software. This barcode includes all the record information. So it can be read by a cellphone camera.

So when I create my main record, it automaticly creates the barcode in a local folder, the name of the barcorde is the same as the main recorde ID. So with the IMPORT DOCUMENT comand. I import the image (barcode) in the record, and when I print for PDF file, the Document template shows image that it needs to be printed.

This is sooooo great. Because Im able to make "Facturas Electronicas" E-Invoces here in Mexico.

Hi! Im working with another person, how is the one making the interface with the electronic invoice. He uses: http://phpqrcode.sourceforge.net/ for the barcode generator. He uses PHP for it. And it seem that it would be a great help to know PHP while using AwareIM. That is a Plus!
