Password Field minimum length

I was trying to setup a rule for a mininium length of the password, I have found no working solution.
The thing should be that a user which does a self registration needs to enter at least 6 characters, I have tried:

If (customers IS NEW OR customers.Password WAS CHANGED ) AND LENGTH(customers.Password)<6 Then
REPORT ERROR 'Password must be min. 6 characters'

How can this bis done?

Loking at the logs, it looks like this rule always results in the password attribute length of 32 no matter what is entered.

Perhaps Support can suggest a work around ??

You need to maintain a separate attribute called, for example, ClearPassword. Your rule should work with this attribute and this is the attribute that the user should enter. You should also have a rule that will copy the clear password into the "real" password and clear out the value of the clear password:

If Customer.ClearPassword IS DEFINED Then
Customer.Password=Customer.ClearPassword
Customer.ClearPassword=UNDEFINED

Rule1)
If (customers IS NEW OR customers.PasswordValidate WAS CHANGED ) AND LENGTH(customers.PasswordValidate)<6 Then
REPORT ERROR 'Password must be min. 6 characters'
customers.Password=customers.PasswordValidate
customers.PasswordValidate=UNDEFINED

Rule2)
If (customers IS NEW OR customers.PasswordValidate WAS CHANGED ) AND LENGTH(customers.PasswordValidate)>5 Then
customers.Password=customers.PasswordValidate
customers.PasswordValidate=UNDEFINED
