Access denied for system

I have imported a file successfully. There is an attribute I want to initialize with a value. The attribute doesn't exist in the import. The Aware object attribute is a simple 1 character text field. There are no rules attached to it. It is not calculated. I'm trying to use a process:

Find ObjectA where ObjectA.Attribute is undefined
ObjectA.Attribute = 'A'

Running this process logged on as administrator produces this error message:

"Access to business object ObjectA is denied for system"

I've run into this before but shutting down Aware and restarting resolved the problem. Now that doesn't work. I can query the object and update the field one instance at a time through the main form with no problem. Unfortunately there are 15K plus instances.

Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have might have a PROTECT rule on this BO?

Hi Vins,
This could be a red herring but I wonder whether this may be a quirk being caused by memory issues when putting 15000 objects into memory. Try filtering the initial FIND ObjectA to find less returns as a test or also you could try, 'IN BATCHES OF 1".

There are PROTECT rules applied to various attributes but not the one I'm trying to update. I have other processes that parse the same object but not attempting to update every instance.

I resolved it by adding the attribute to the MS Access table, using a query there to set the value, and then exporting.

I'll try the "Batches of 1" technique.
