Dear Aware IM users,

just letting you know that version 5.0 has been released today.

Is there a way to get any details in a document on what's in 5.0, esp as it relates to Mobile? Are there any videos specific to 5.0? Thank you.

I'm reading the materials now. Very exciting.

That's good because it really looks like Tom wants you to read it. 😉

Excellent. Shoots - score! 😃

Actually, I think he was experiencing what I was at that time. After a post, there was an error leading you to believe the post didn't happen.

pbrad

Either that or Tom is in a race to 2000 posts. Wow Tom!

Good call Pete .. you caught me.

No, actually each time I was getting an odd error message like Frank said. Thankfully I gave up after 3 attempts, because I still got the error message after the 3rd post.

Regarding the Mobile Support:

Can you tell us if there is any plan to soon support:

GPS data collection
Any elements of HTML 5 Offline support?

Both are important to us, and the GPS data collection is, I'm afraid, a must have. Need to know if there are any possibilities there, otherwise we'd have to put this aside and try again down the road.

aware_support

We are not planning offline support in the near future. We may support GPS in the next Aware IM release.

when you said support for gps data collection, does it mean i would be able to call a process and get the longtitude-latitude from any gps enabled device and pass the value to a business object attribute?

i am actually looking for ways to be able to do this on android tables and incorporate it into my business space. im looking at several java script online that i can then call from my awareim

aware_support

Yes, this is what you'll be able to do

tonyjamero

very nice. looking forward to this feature.

i am planning to add this feature to my current ordering-delivery application. our salespeople would would be issued android tablets (like xoom) so they can create and schedule orders on the jobsite. it would really be neat as they create the order if they can run a process to get the longtitude/latitude from their gps/wifi/celluar android tablets.

when is the next AwareIM release that will support this feature due?
