bmeyns How can I send a new e-mail when a new object is created? I've defined this rule: IF VerzNummerplaat.ID IS UNDEFINED THEN FIND OCMWUser WHERE OCMWUser.EmailAddress IS DEFINED SEND NieuweNummerplaat_mail TO OCMWUser But I get this error when creating a new object: Action SEND NieuweNummerplaat_mail TO OCMWUser is not allowed during initialisation.
bmeyns Hi Pete, Problem when I use "IS NEW", I get allready an error on the FIND OCMWUser, i.e.: Action FIND OCMWUser WHERE OCMWUser.EmailAddress IS DEFINED is not allowed during initialisation.
pbrad Hi, I don't have AwareIM open right now and I'm not sure why that error should show if this is the ony rule against the object however if you go to the last rule tab, (it is either called general or advanced), there are checkboxes where you can select whether the rule should run during initialization or not. Set the rule to not run during intiialization and this will get rid of your error. Pete
bmeyns Checking the Advanced option "Do not use rule during initialization" does not help. I've been testing on a simple object: If Test IS NEW Then SEND NieuweNummerplaat_mail TO LoggedInOCMWUser And still have the same error. :?
RocketRod I would just add a calculated field to the BO called MailSent and initialize to 0 on creation of instance. Then have a rule that sends the mail if MailSent = 0 and sets the field to 1 so its never sent a again. Cheers Rod
bmeyns Hmm, strange. Problem is fixed, but I'm not aware about what was defined wrong... Same rule is working now: If Test IS NEW Then SEND NieuweNummerplaat_mail TO LoggedInOCMWUser Anyway, thx for your supports :? Benny
