Query two objects

I'm trying to understand the "Business Object Group" feature. I need a query to show attributes from two business objects. I created the group ObjAB with ObjA and ObjB which have several common attributes but each also contains different attributes.

A query only presents the common attributes of both for display selection. I can accomplish that querying either object without creating a group. "Presentation" on the group edit dialog also only shows only the common attributes. I've searched the forum on "groups" but am not finding anything relevant. What am I missing here?

A query for a group CAN ONLY SHOW COMMON attributes. You cannot have a query that shows attributes specific to one object only (this means that these will be blank for those members of the group that do not have them)

Here's my confusion:

"1. Business object groups can be used in queries to search the system for objects of different types based on the criteria that use common attributes of the group – see Data Retrieval."

I need to search one object and use the results to access a 2nd object with a common attribute with the same value and update attributes in the 2nd object with data from the 1st and display those updates and other attributes from the 2nd object. Is that possible? If so please explain how or lead me to the documentation that explains it.

Most probably you need to use subqueries:

FIND Object1 WHERE EXISTS Object2 WHERE(...)

Can't tell you more without knowing the specifics of what you want to do

I've tried syntax like that but it was rife with errors. Probably doing it wrong. I'll research subs and try harder.
