Problem with calculated fields in v4.95

Hi,

I'm running into a problem since I upgraded to v4.95.

I my object InvoiceLines I have a field InvoiceLines.LineTotal which is set be a calculated field.

In my rules there is a rule that calculates InvoiceLines.LineTotal=InvoiceLines.Pax*InvoiceLines.Price

When I'm trying to save the object AwareIM evaluates the following rule:

Evaluating rule 'Auto calculation of InvoiceLines.LineTotal' if InvoiceLines.LineTotal WAS CHANGED BY ANY USER then InvoiceLines.LineTotal=OLD_VALUE(InvoiceLines.LineTotal)

It evaluates to true so the old values are reset and I am unable to update my object.

Am I doing something wrong?

Most probably you are. There is NOTHING in 4.95 that is new in this area. I don't know what's going on but try not to make the value calculated and use protection rules to protect it instead.

Well I think I found what is causing the problem.

The rule InvoiceLines.Line=InvoiceLines.Pax*InvoiceLines.Price was set to:
Use rule in dynamic calculation on forms AND
Do not use rule anywhere else

With this setting the rules are executed dynamically when changing the TotalPax. However the error comes when you try to save the record.

When I switch Do not use rule anywhere else off, then everything goes fine.

I'm puzzled now what the use of Do not use rule anywhere else is since you cannot really use it.
