Import Query results into a Field

I have an business space where I can create a Quotes and add items to it. In the quote, I have a text field available for notes. How do I define a process while I am editing the quote so that when i run the process it would query the line items in the quote and assign it to the value of the notes field.

I tried this but it did not work.
Quote.Notes=FIND items where items IN Quote.Items

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Here's an amateur stab - other responses will probably be much better, but...

The FIND statement returns a record or a record set. Once retrieved, you can "do things" with it. Try something more along the lines of:

Quote is in context somehow...

FIND Items where Item.Quote=ThisQuote
Quote.Note=Quote.Note + Item.ItemName (or Item.ItemNumber, or whatever...)

Actions taken after a FIND statement are taken on all objects returned in the query.

You may also want to insert a line break for each iteration of Items.

Worth a try.

so i created a process with 2 actions

find item where item.quotenum=thisquote.quotenum
quote.notes=quote.notes+item.description+CHAR(13)

it seem to be doing it but it only returns the first item. also, how do you add a linefeed? I tried the \n and '\n' and CHAR(13) but none would work.

If you happen to not need the results in a BO, but just need to present on a Form, Report or HTML document, look into LIST and LIST_TABLE functions in the User Guide.

I'm stumped on the fundamental question. I'm sure one of others can help you with that. To add a linefeed, you can create a SystemSettings attribute and literally just enter an ENTER key stroke, then insert it like:

...Customer.Address + SystemSetting.LineFeed + Customer.City...

I tried to DISPLAY the query result and it does show all the Items in the Quote. But whenever I pass the result to a BO field, it only assigns the last record of the query result

FIND Items where Items in Quote.LineItem
Quote.Notes=Quote.Notes+Items.SKU+Items.Desc+SystemSettings.Linefeed

don't you need to put in your find 'IN BATCHES OF 1'

FIND Items where Items in Quote.LineItem IN BATCHES OF 1

Thanks a lot FUSEON. The "IN BATCHES OF 1" returned all the items at once. You have no idea how many hours I already spent searching this forum and the documentations available for any similar examples.

We just purchased the software like back in November so I am still learing my way around it.

I think I just figured out as well how to have a line feed after each iteration of the query result.

Find QuoteItem where QuoteItem in Quote.Items
Quote.Notes=Quote.Notes+QuoteItem.SKU+'
'

I literally have an ENTER key at the end of the 2nd line before the close quote on the 3rd line. It worked for me so Im Ok with it.
