How to create a new BO from combining existing BOs?

I have two BOs.

ParentBO
-- 2 PlainText attributes: Attribute1 & Attribute2
-- 1 reference attribute: Components of type ChildBO ( Multiple allowed )
ChildBO
-- 3 PlainText attribute: Attribute1, Attribute2 & Attribute3
-- 1 reference attribute: Parent of type ParentBO

I'd like to create a new ParentBO whose Components are the 'Union' of multiple selected ParentBOs' Components.

Could anyone kindly help?

I am not sure I understand. What do you mean by a "union of multiple selected ParentBO's Components"?

I have a query to list all ParentBO. Form the list, I can select several instances. I'd like to define a process to create a new ParentBO instance whose componets ( reference attribute of type ChildBO ) are the union of the components from selected ParentBO instance.

The process will need to insert children of the selected parents into the new parent:

// This will create a new parent
CREATE ParentBO

// This will insert children from selected parent (ThisParentBO) into the new one (ThatParentBO)
FIND ChildBO WHERE ChildBO IN ThisParentBO.Children
INSERT ChildBO IN ThatParentBO.Children

Thank you very much for the reply. However the solution doesn't work in my case. Problems here:

The relation between ParentBO and ChildBO is parent-child. They are 1:n relation. Therefore,
INSERT ChildBO IN ThatParentBO.Children couldn't work
I used
DISPLAY MESSAGE ChildBO.Attribute1+' '+ThatParentBO.Attribute1 to replace
INSERT ChildBO IN ThatParentBO.Children
to see what ChildBO's instances can be found out. The result was confused:
a. When I selected only one ParentBO from ParentBO instance list, only first ChildBO in selected ParentBO + new ParentBO could be displayed.
b. When I selected multiple ParentBOs from ParentBO instance list, only first ChildBO in first selected ParentBO + first selected ParentBO could be displayed.
Even if change relation between ParentBO and ChildBO to n:m, INSERT ChildBO IN ThatParentBO.Children worked well when I selected one ParentBO from ParentBO instance list. But it couldn't work either if I selected multiple ParentBOs from ParentBO instance list. Nothing would be inserted in ThatParentBO.Children.

It seems very difficult to pass a group of objects as parameter to next query or process. How does Aware provide loop control or intermediate variables usage?

Any ideas/suggestions ?

Are you saying that you have one child and multiple parents?? You would think that it's the other way around - one parent and multiple children, in which case the above should work.

Aware IM should put all the objects that the user selects into the context and then each operation should be applied to each instance in the context providing the effect of the loop.

Again I really don't understand your structure. A Parent object must have multiple reference to its children, so my first suggestion should work.

My structure is right that one parent has multiple children, and one child has one parent.

The Children get from
FIND ChildBO WHERE ChildBO IN ThisParentBO.Children
have the parent ThisParentBO already. They can not be inserted into ThatParentBO with
INSERT ChildBO IN ThatParentBO.Children

Then you just need to duplicate the list of children in one parent and copy them into the list in the new parent. DUPLICATE action for lists does exactly this - check it out...
