Note: I dnt want my customer configure my application. If their IT Dept user want to do that, the need to purchase the Aware Professional License. Is that correct?
Yes - If they have purchased a Pro License and you have developed features in the Dev license that don't exist in the Pro license, they will not be able to edit those features
But with the AwareIM, how I can limit each companies number of user to access my application.
For e.g. Customer A Max 5 Users; Customer B Max 3 Users and so on.. Company A and B are not related company but using the same application I build.
I understand there is a function in the latest build that lets you manage logged in users. So you need to insert a rule in your application that will assist in managing logged in users
2. Install on customer hosting server -> mean I purchase additional developer license and install on my customer hosting server. My customer can configure my application directly too. Or what license should I purchase if I dnt want my customer edit or configure my applicaiton?
If you don't want the customer to configure your application then make sure your application is password protected . Alternatively if your customer is running the runtime version, then there is no access to the configurator
Install on customer Local Area Network Windows 2010 Server -> In the LAN, there are 10 users going to acccess my application and 10 external user from difference location to access the application through static IP Address. The LAN user also can access the application using the static IP Address too.
Then what should I do now?
Install the Dev Licence on your customers server, it comes with 10 user licence, Then your external users can connect as well as well as the internal users. If you install a runtime version on your customers network, then external user wont be able to connect because hosting with a runtime licence is not allowed. (at least that's the way i understand it)
Then what is the RunTime Server License for?
A runtime licence is used for a single application to be installed within the the companies LAN - no WAN access
When ready, developer need to purchase separate Web-Application Server (WAS) to be install on customer Windows 2010 Server or Hosting Server or anywhere. Transfer the delopy file and activate the WAS license will do. WAS come with unlimited concurrent user license. Customer cannot change the application provided they purchase the Alpha Application Software.
Technically the Pro and Dev Licence are the same as the "WAS" providing you do not install the server inside the customers LAN behind their firewall
I believed that Aware IM Runtime is the same as Alpha Web-Application Server (WAS) .
Aware IM Runtime Engine (that includes a web server) to run a single application accessible by multiple users -> Run a Single Application? What does it means? If I have 3 Difference Business Space Application, then how?
I don't believe you can have multiple versions running under a single runtime license. Your best bet would be to install a professional version which comes with a 10 user license and then license additionally users separately. This will let you have multiple applications running concurrently where users can traverse across
Does it mean unlimited users to access the Business Space Application? I have 3 difference business space application, does it means all any user can access my application?
The licensing is transparent to how many business spaces you may have on a server. If you want all the users to have access to all the applications (business spaces) then you need to make sure that each user is taken on as a user in each application. Each business space has its own rules for users
So if you have a 10 user license then all users may access all applications subject to each applications user takeon
