Execute Child Process from Custom Process

I have a custom Java process that computes some info and creates a temporary BO (I have tried with and without persistence). I then want to pass that BO off to an HTML report for display to the user. If I store my DiffInfo object and run the process by hand, I can get the HTML report. I am attempting to use:

IProcess process = (IProcess) engine.executeChildProcess(this, "DisplayDiff", new IEntity[]{diffInfo}, false);

(I have tried with the asynch flag as both true and false)

DisplayDiff is a process with one rule, display the HTML report.

When I do within this custom process I get:

We'll investigate. Looks like a bug.

Any updates or ideas on workarounds? I would love to something working by January.

We will look at the issue today or tomorrow, so most probably the fix will be available by Monday

We have run a similar test and everything seems to work fine. Please send the BSV and describe all the steps required to reproduce the problem from scratch.

Did you try it on Linux ?

No, but I cannot see how this particular problem can be dependent on the operating system. The most likely scenario is that we are doing something slightly different to what you are doing. If you don't want to send the BSV please create a standalone test that repeats the same steps and send us your code and the BSV.

The problem is how you handle exceptions. ServerTimeOutException has to be handled in a special manner (I belive this should be mentioned in the Programmers Guide)

This is your original code:

Yes, that did help. For completeness, I tried sending in true instead of false and saw the error below. Any suggestions for this code ? Thanks again!

Do not use "asynchronous" flag for processes that invoke interaction with the user - it won't work.
