Can sort values in combo box ?

I have a BO which contains a 'Plain Text' attribute - Name, with Dynamic choices of 'Using existing attribute values as choices'. When create/edit this BO, the Name attribute is diplayed as a dropdown list. However the values in the dropdown list are not sorted. Is there any method to sort the values in the drop down list?

You can use "Choices determined by the query". The values would then be sorted in the query.

Have tried to use "Choices determined by the query". The values are really sorted when showing the query result. But not really when assigning the values to the dropdown list -i.e. the values in dropdown list are still not sorted as the same as using 'Using existing attribute values as choices'.

I don't understand your question. The query WILL result in a different result IF you specific a sort attribute.

Yes, the query results are displayed differently when displaying in a default presentation and in a dropdown list in a form.

In my case, I specified a sort attribute 'Name' in query, the 'Name' will be sorted and displayed in the query result tab. However, as you suggested, I defined 'Name' attribute with "Choices determined by the query" and selected above mentioned query, assigned 'Attribute to Display' as 'Name', when I edit/create this BO, the values of 'Name' attribute in dropdown list are not sorted.

My question is 'Is there any method to sort the values in the drop down list?'

I used a query with the following RULE FORM:
FIND ALL City ORDER BY City.Name

and specify that query under "choices are determined by query" for the BO.

The result is a SORTED list of city names when entering new City BO instances.

Please note I am using Build 1388.

Thanks, Tom. I did the same as you did. Probably the problem is that I am using Build 1351.
