Comma separated attribute listing in a presentation

Hi everyone,

I guess my question will be an easy and straight answer for most of you.

I would like to change the layout of a presentation I have created from a table display to a comma separated line listing.

Example: I have a BO containing multiple attributes. E.g. Country, City, Company

Currently I can only display the instances in a table format where country, city and company are represented in a column.

However, I would like to present the data as a string the following format

USA, New York, HP
Brazil, Brazil, Cognos
Spain, Madrid, SAP

suggesting the ‘LIST’ function which I have tried but didn’t work.

FirstName,LastName,Address,City,State,Zip
<<LIST('FIND Customer WHERE ...', ',', 'FirstName', 'LastName', 'Address', 'City', 'State', 'Zip')>>

Can anyone help?

The LIST function IS the answer. It should work - you are probably not using it correctly

Hi Support Team,

thank you. I tried a couple of variation but still can't get the formula going.

my BO is called 'customer' and the attributes 'country', 'city' and 'company'.

Is this how to write the tag

<<LIST (customer.country, customer.city, customer.company)>>

the example in the formula guide suggests this wording.

Please take a look at the documentation for this function:

1) The first argument is the list that you want to print out
2) The second argument is the delimiter
3) Other arguments are attribute names

Example:

<<LIST(MyObject.Customers, ' ', 'country', 'city', 'company')>>

I believe this is all described in the context assistant to start with...

You actually wanted comma for a delimiter, so the function should be:

<<LIST(MyObject.Customers, ',', 'country', 'city', 'company')>>

many thanks. This was very helpful.

I finally got it to work. Actually my final result looks a bit more complex as I needed to pull out information for individual instances of an BO instead of listing all instances the BO.

In case this might be useful to someone. You can also integrate the following to sort the results

ORDER BY YourBO.YearJoined DESC
