Document storage - noob

has anyone created a large document storage system with aware yet?

we would like to know if it is possible to re-locate all stored document to a specific logical area Outside of the \tomcat\root folder?

so when a user uploads it is stored in a folder outside of web folder

hi,

we are trying to figure out a solution for user documents in system folders.

1) if we allow users to upload documents, can we somehow redirect them into a specific file storage area?

2) has anyone implemented a solution which allowed a "file" not uploaded via aware to be retrieved via an aware solution.

example: we have a folder called z:\docs\customername
when a user of an awareim system logs in, we could perform a query against a system folder and show the contents of the folder?

re#1: i did read this however our goal is even more simple.

can we specify anywhere in AwareIM config files, where documents can be stored?

today when we "attach" pictures they are are stored in

C:\Aware\Tomcat\webapps\Aware\

we wanted to have them stored in a NAS like D: or E:

re#2: yes i did mean querynig the contents of a folder on the server or local files system of the server.
