open multiple browser windows

I record multiple urls with separated by semicolon in a Plain Text attribute. I'd like to define a start process to open those multiple urls in multiple browser windows. Could someone please be so kind to suggest a way to implement it?

You'll need to create an HTML link and write a Javascript that will respond to the onclick event and do the job. The link can be added as an HTML cell on the form. The Javascript will roughly need to do the following:

1) Access the value of the URL's stored in the text attribute. To do this use the following code:
var form = AwareApp.getFormPanel (this).getForm ();
var urls = form.findField ('AttributeName').getValue ();
where AttributeName is the name of the attribute that stores the URL's

2) Parse the contents of the string and split it into substrings for each URL. You can use standard methods of the String object to do this

3) For each URL you can use Java script functions to open a window for the given URL

Thanks a lot for the reply. I tried to add a HTML cell on the form as your instruction. However I got problems to call javascript function. For example, I have a simple HTML cell as follow:

<script type="text/javascript">
function separateURL()
{
alert("test");
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<button onclick="separateURL()">Button</button>
</body>
</html>

When I clicked the Button, no alert came out. The javascript error is

The same code in a standalone HTML page was tested without any errors. Please advice.

Don't use <script> tag in the HTML cell - they are not supported there. Use the <button> tag with the onclick handler like I recommended above

If <script> tag is not supported in HTML cell, how and where should the onclick handler be placed? The onclick handler is usually a group of javascript functions.

Thanks for the reply. I ever tested to put my code at the place you mentioned. However, it seems not to support function call either. For example, the following code didn't work:

What you need to understand is that the HTML code in the HTML cell is not a full blown HTML page that contains <html>, <body> and other tags - it's just a snippet of the HTML code that gets inserted into the bigger HTML of the form. I didn't mean that you should call a function in your onclick handler. What I meant that you put all your code in a single line with statements separated by ;. For example:

However, if you want to call a function you should do this:

Create a Javascript file and put your function in this file
Put this file in AwareIM/Tomcat/webapps/AwareIM folder
Add a reference to this Javascript file to the startup.html file located in the same directory
Call this function from the onclick handler:
<button onclick="MyFunction();">Open URLS</button>
