Over the past few days, I've noticed a couple of strange occurences which may be related and was wondering whether any Tomcat Experts could ofer any advice on optimisation.
The latest was last night when the Tomcat log reported a SEVERE MaxThreads(150) exceeded
This resulted in a complete AwarIM outage with web browsers reporting "Page not available or may have been removed.
For a couple of weeks prior to this (maybe related maybe not) Members attempting to log in reporting the login process stalling and getting a spinning ball whilst those who were already logged in could carry on working
Today, I've increased MaxThreads to 300 on the non-SSL connector in the server.xml file. Tomcat is allocated 256Mb. - Too early to say what impact this is going to have as my members are only just waking up here in the UK
Can anyone tell me -
1)what is the maximum number of Threads Tomcat can handle
2) Is there anything else I need to tweak (sessions??)
