Dynamic Choices Query

BO 'Car' and BO 'Tires'...
I have 'Car' with a reference attribute allowing multiple 'Tires'. I have a Plain Text field in 'Car' that I want to limit the choices to a field in the 'Tires's that are related to the current 'Car' you are editing...

FIND Tire WHERE Tire IN ThisCar.Tires

Is this right, it doesn't appear to work, even though the Config Tool seems to understand.

This should work for an existing car, but I don't think it will work for a new car that you are creating (the Car is not there yet, so the query will fail). What's the output of the Aware IM Server and Tomcat?

I thought of that, so I saved it and the Tire before trying and have gone back several times.

The Tomcat Window just says:
"WebServlet URL got request with params:"

Aware IM says:
"Value of item could not be resolved"

Assumptions:

1) BO: Tire
-- attribute: Info = Plain Text
-- attribute: TireType = Plain Type with choices A, B, C (for example)

2) BO Car
-- attribute: Info = Plain Text
-- attribute: TireType = Plain Type with choices A, B, C (for example)
-- attribute: Tires -- Peer relationship with multiple allowed to BO: Tire

Note the Tires has a Custom Query:
FIND Tire WHERE Tire.TireType=ThisCar.TireType

This will ensure that only Tires of the proper TireType for this Car will be shown for selection

3) Create some Tire instances .. some with A, some with B, some with C

4) Now create a Car instance. Once you select a TireType for the Car, you don't have to save the record yet .. only the proper tires will be shown for selection

This is a bug that has now been fixed. The fix will be in the next minor version release that is due out within a week or two. If you want the fix earlier please send us an e-mail.

Does this issue also affect NOT eg:

FIND Tire WHERE NOT(Tire IN ThisCar.Tires)

As this doesn't appear to be working.

We are using this in a query on a Picklist to display items that haven't already been selected.

Has nothing to do with this NOT (.. IN ...) is not supported in queries. I believe this is documented in the list of known issues in the User Guide.
