Can anyone help? Project Status

Hi Everyone,

I have a BO called 'Project' which stores information about construction projects. I want the attribute 'Project.Status' to automaticly update if certian conditions are met but i can't work out the rules to make this work,

Here is where i have got to.....

If Project.QuoteDate IS DEFINED Then
Project.Status='Quoted' ELSE
If Project.StartDate<CURRENT_DATE AND Project.StartDate IS DEFINED Then
Project.Status='Waiting to Start' ELSE
If Project.StartDate>CURRENT_DATE AND Project.StartDate IS DEFINED Then
Project.Status='Project Started' ELSE
If Project.CompletionDate>CURRENT_DATE AND Project.CompletionDate IS DEFINED Then
Project.Status='Completed' ELSE
Project.Status='Inquiry'

Any help greatly appriciated 🙂

Try creating rules without the else statements - one rule per status.

If i create one rule for each status then what happens if the the conditions of two or more of the rules are met? How will Aware know which rule should be implemented?

Eg.

If QuoteDate is defined then the status will be changed to 'Quoted'

If StartDate is defined then the status would be changed to 'Waiting to Start'

Will the status be set as 'Quoted' or 'Waiting to Start'

Project.Status='Quoted'
If Project.StartDate<CURRENT_DATE AND Project.StartDate IS DEFINED AND Project.QuoteDate is DEFINED AND Project.CompletionDate IS UNDEFINED Then Project.Status='Waiting to Start'
If Project.StartDate>CURRENT_DATE AND Project.StartDate IS DEFINED AND Project.CompletionDate IS UNDEFINED Then
Project.Status='Project Started'
If Project.CompletionDate>CURRENT_DATE AND Project.CompletionDate IS DEFINED Then Project.Status='Completed'
IF Project.QuoteDate IS UNDEFINED AND etc etc etc THEN Project.Status='Inquiry'
