Installation problem: ./JDK/bin/java: No such file or direct

New server (clean) with Ubuntu 10.4 and fresh download of Aware.

When running:
sudo bash startAwareIM.sh

Get the following error:
startAwareIM.sh: line 14: ../JDK/bin/java: No such file or directory

Line 14 of the file reads:
$JDK_HOME/bin/java -Xmx192m -Xms20m -cp $CLASSPATH com.bas.controlcenter.ControlCenterApp

The file java does exist in AwareIM/JDK/bin/ and all the permisions are fine too.

Most probably your are not running the script from the BIN directory.

I'm definitely running it from the bin directory:

tried:

bob /AwareIM/bin: sudo bash startAwareIM.sh

and:

bob ~: sudo bash /AwareIM/bin/startAwareIM.sh

and:

root@bob:/AwareIM/bin# bash startAwareIM.sh

any other hints?

You need to cd to the BIN directory!

I've done that - that's the first example below, where I do this:

cd /AwareIM/bin/

prompt changes to:

bob /AwareIM/bin:

(which indicates I'm in the bin directory)

then I do:

sudo bash startAwareIM.sh

and I get the error:
startAwareIM.sh: line 14: ../JDK/bin/java: No such file or directory

Not sure. Experiment. Try changing the script to specify the directory explicitly.

Fixed it! In case anyone else has this problem (unlikely):

Java that comes with some installers uses shared libs, this borks on most fresh 64bit installs. On Ubuntu we ran this to fix it:

$ apt-get install libc6-i386 lib32gcc1 lib32z1 lib32stdc++6 ia32-libs
