Exchange Server Question

Hello,
currently i try to sell AwareIM to a engineering company with about 90 employees.
The use the windows plattform (Server2008,Exchange2007,SQL2008-).
As like as many other companies, they organize their office around MS Office and Exchange.
Has anyone of you an idea and/or experiance how to move/synchronize about 2500 contacts from Exchange to AwareIM.
Or can i link the exchange DB as external datasource?

What is the format in which Exchange stores their contacts? Is it possible to export these contacts in other formats? If so, which ones?

in the meantime i have found out, that it is possible, to create a linked server within the sql server using an exchange ole db provider (see also: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191461.aspx) - i will try this and give some feedback here.
