Logged In User

I am missing something probably easy regarding a logged in user. A simple application that allows users to store information. All user are separate and can not view another users information.

With that being said here is an example....

User Object - contains login info etc for a user

Alerts Object - contains txt messages and is owned by the User Object

When a user created a new alert object the following rule is determined:
If Alerts IS NEW Then Alerts.User=LoggedInSystemUser

Though if i try and query a record created i can not gather the information for a logged in sser such as FIND Alerts WHERE Alerts.User='LoggedInSystemUser'

I have tried numerous configurations with no luck. Does anyone have a suggestion or preferred way to do this

Thank you though i have tried all of those arrangements. And have verified the correct relationship(s) are created.

Mmmm,

So the Alerts.User is a reference attribute of type RegularUser ?

I would have thought that LoggedInRegularUser should have worked.

You could also try setting the Alerts.User.ID to the LoggedInRegularUser.ID

Not sure what the problem is, but this query is wrong:
FIND Alerts WHERE Alerts.User='LoggedInSystemUser'

It should be:
FIND Alerts WHERE Alerts.User=LoggedInSystemUser

or
FIND Alerts WHERE Alerts.User.ID=LoggedInSystemUser.ID
