Bryan I have a document template that I would like to display a timestamp attribute in as a tag. The issue is that I am not sure how to format the <<BO.timestampattribute>> tag once it is in the document. I am trying to get this format "MMMM d, yyyy" or "June 2, 2010" Any insight is greatly appreciated.
aware_support Format can be specified directly in the tag - you need to separate the expression and format with comma, for example: <<BO.timestampattribute,'MMMM d, yyyy'>>
kklosson Can you please explain how to provide a format when combined with a TIME_ADD function? <<TIME_ADD(BO.timestampattribute,BO.TimeDiff,'MMMM d, yyyy')>> That doesn't seem to work...
kklosson Doesn't pass syntax check. My exact expression is: TIME_ADD(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,LoggedInInvestigator.Organization.TimeDiff),'MM/dd/yyyy'
kklosson I'm still not finding a way to use TIME_ADD in conjunction with a formating string as shown above. Anybody have anything on that? <<TIME_ADD(BO.timestampattribute,BO.TimeDiff),'MMMM d, yyyy'>> ...doesn't pass the formatting check.
tford Have you tried: 1) add a timestamp attribute to the BO with appropriate format 2) add a rule to do the the TIMEADD calc 3) use the attribute from #1 in the report
kklosson I guess you are saying to add this rule to the BO of which I am reporting and the rule sets the value to CURRENT_TIMESTAMP. I can try it but it seems the long way around. I've also set the format in a localization object and that had no affect at all - I probably do not understand that feature perfectly well.
tford Following my suggestion should at least show that your formats / syntax will function properly. Then you could consider further simplification after having success.
BobK AS_STRING(TIME_ADD(BO.timestampattribute,BO.TimeDiff),'MMMM dd, yyyy') works for me. Where are you trying to use it? I am using it in a Document template, Document Type: Report. is BO.TimeDiff defined as a number?
kklosson Yes, I'm using it in a document (report) tag. TimeDiff is a number and allows for negative numbers.
