MYOB or QuickBooks

Was wondering if anyone has integrated AwareIM with MOYB or Quickbooks (Quicken) financial software packages?

Hi,

I played around with this a couple of years ago and had it working with Quickbooks. It wasn't a full integration but I did have AwareIM exporting a document that was formatted and named as a '.qif' file which is the format that Quickbooks can import. I believe that I was having the client run this export daily which would capture all of their transactions for the day and then import them each day into Quickbooks.

I hate to bring up old topics but I thought it might be better to reply to this rather than start a new thread.....

Has anyone gone through the Intuit developer network to create an integration for quickbooks? I might be starting to create something soon since I am looking into quickbooks online for my business.

Hi ,

We have indeed gone trough this processes with both MYOB and Intuit . The bottom line is that Quickbooks allows import of very specific data via the .IIF format , for which with the assistance of AwareIM support we have developed a great plugin .
Myob on the other hand is much more restrictive and inflexible and the only possible solution would be using their developer tools where you would read data from say Mysql ( AwareIM) and reformatted and insert it into MYOB tables at a SQL level .
This works for us very successfully but we engaged the services of a specialised MYOB integration firm which wrote this windows application that syncs customers , suppliers , invoices and purchase orders . The same is valid for QuickBooks but it is achieved via their QBXML procedure .

It would be great if AwareIm could sell these two as plugins on your behalf at an addtional cost like the mobile facility! I for one would be interested in purchasing them.

Interesting post.

We have built both a MYOB and QB export feature that is used to import sales, purchases, and stock items into these accounting packages.

codrin - can you please explain what your plugin does and how it would be better than just importing?

Hi ,

The plugin works only for Quickbooks and it will generate on the fly for one or multiple records , a relevant IIF file for either an Invoice or a Purchase Order . This can be saved on your disk and then imported into Quickbooks.

The separate sync software we had developed will run independent of AwareIM as a exe program on any pc on the network and query the Mysql database for records not yet exported and then formatting the data to the native format for either QuickBooks or Myob and writing it at the database level without the need of an actual import action. This is then set as a scheduled service for a set time interval. This is the most elegant solution we have found as it is independent of user action and completely automated.
