Ideas for mass update of instances in a BO please

Can anyone provide a suggestion about how to create a process to do the following:

Allow the user to search and find instances in a BO (eg all instances with Type=Car AND State=NSW)
Allow User to update an attribute in this BO called Status eg Status=Inactive
This will update ALL instances in the BO which match the search criteria by setting the Status attribute to "Inactive"

The user should be able to do any search on the BO attributes to filter and find the instances that match their requirements.

Allowing Inline Editing isn't a good option for this Use Case because there could be 100's of records that need a mass update.

You will need a process that will run a query and then set the status:

FIND ...
BO.Status = 'Inactive'

The query can use a form. The form search is flexible enough and there are many ways for the user to specify different search criteria

FYI for others, we solved this using Support's suggestion plus some more.

The top panel is a search form. The bottom panel is the search results.

The User can search and filter in the top panel, viewing the results in the bottom panel.

On the bottom panel we have a process that is applied to multiple items. So the User can select all in the search results by using the top click box (and deselect some if they choose). Then apply the process to update the status on all selected instances as described by support below.

It works great.
