Viewing Object Presentation with External DB Persistence

I have an object setup with "existing external" persistence. I have two presentations setup for this object: "List" and "Detail".

In the List presentation, I have the hyperlink for each object set to "View Presentation" and the presentation owner is set to "Owner of the presentation being edited" and the presentation is set to Detail.

Everytime I click on any record that shows up in "List", the system returns this error:

Internal error. Error reading business object. Incorrect syntax near '='.

I've tried recreating the Detail and List presentations but the result is the same. If I setup a query that displays the "Detail" presentation, it works fine - so I'm confident that the presentation itself works.

Has anyone else run into this?

By the way... I'm running AwareIM 4.9 build 1301.

I've tried some workarounds including using a process to run the VIEW command for the "Detail" presentation. I also tried this with a query and set the result to display the "Detail" presentation.

When I use the process, the result is the same.

When I use the query, I get a slightly different error (listed below).
Internal error. Error reading business object. Incorrect syntax near ')'.

Can AwareIM support offer some help here? Will this function even work with an external DB? Or has this ever been attempted?

Installed build 1309 but the result was the same.

We don't know. We would need to reproduce this problem, but it's difficult since we don't have your external database.

I understand that it's difficult for you to troubleshoot.

I'm connecting to a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 machine (not that it matters but it's the same one that the awareIM db sits on). Here's a function that I think should work but it gives me that same error:

If I create a new object with external db persistence, I can add a custom presentation and an operation to the main form to view that presentation. When I open a record with the main form, I click to run the "View presentation" operation and it gives me the same error.
That should be easier to replicate and it will give you the same result.

I believe it has something to do with the query against the SQL db. Specifically, I think it's happening at the "=" because the query compares (Object.UID=Object.UID). I'm not a SQL expert... is that a valid query condition for MS SQL?
