Dynamic dropdown list when editing records

This is an addition on an earlier post (https://forum.awareim.com/d/724>).

I implemented the same solution into my business space and works well. That is to say, only when I enter a new record. When I edit the same record, the list of attribute "model" is not updated to the referenced values when I change attribute "make".

How can I make this work?

If you set the Quote.Make attribute to "Save form when selection changes", the Model drop down WILL change when the Make changes.

The danger in this approach is that the form is automatically saved every time the Make changes.

Hi Tom,

I noticed that option before as well and tried it. But in that case the form is saved and closed when I change the value. So I don't remain on the form to change the second value.

What method are you using to access the form? Not sure why it's automatically closing on you.

Hi Tom,

I have a visual perspective with an HTML area from which I call a process by using javascript:AwareApp.startProcess('process_name'). In that process I find the record I want to edit and then I call the right form by using EDIT BusinessObject USING Form.

Have you tried using VIEW action in your process rather than EDIT action?

I was waiting for version 4.9 to retest the problem. I'm glad I did that because the problem has been solved in the new version!
