Rename BSV

Hi All,

Just wondered if it was possible to rename my BS? I am using the standard CRM business space as a template for my own app, but i dont want it to be called CRM. I have searched on here but havent had any luck in finding an answer nor can i find a way to change it in the configuration tool!

Hi Andy,

There is no way to rename the Business Space. You can, however, create a Business Space with the name that you desire, them import the BSV into it.

I'm quite new using AwareIM and I see that you have already developed an application from a sample application, which is what I'm trying to do. I want to use the "Library" sample as start point but my application is a not a library but a register for research studies. I wonder if you have managed to change the interface of the application, I mean, the HTMLs, images, banners, document templates, etc. I'm really struggling trying to change the interface, but I can't find how to do it.

Hi,
Unless your required application is very similar to the sample application, my advice would be to start from scratch and copy/paste the portions of the sample app that you want to use into your app. Significantly renaming objects etc.. in the sample app will likely require a greater skill than you have at this point. Use the sample app more as a guide to understand how it operates than a starting point for your app and you shouldn't have any problems.

Thanks a lot for your advice!
My application is quite similar to the Library. It is a register for research studies and biobanks.
I have already changed a lot the objects and functionalities and even when it can be a tedious task, is doable. The big problem seems to be the simplest one: to change the interface and document templates. I import my own HMTLs and it just don't work. For example, I see the name of my HTML in the "Selected panel" /"Import HTML page" in a visual perspective but when I login in the Operation mode, the old banner is there!
Sorry to bother, it is just that I would really like to reuse many things from the Library sample but I need to change the interface.
I would save a lot of time if I know that it is impossible to change the interface. Is that the case?

Hi,
changing the html in a section is totally possible. Sometimes it is the obvious that screws you up. Make sure that the visual perspective that you are changing and the section that you are changing is definitely the same one that you are looking at in operation mode. Try changing something else in that visual perspective such as a menu item to confirm this. The swapping out of the html is as simple as selecting the folder to import with the html in it. Try exporting it after you have imported it to confirm that it is definitely there. I'm sure that some basic troubleshooting will resolve your problem.

Yes, actually I changed the html for the member perspective, frame "Left" and it works! Still fighting with document templates, splashes and banner... I'll find the way.
