Address formatting in MS Word

My Main members database has the usual address fields address1, address2, district, city, zip/postcode etc and I have successfully created a word document with tags. From an AwareIM point of view - everything is fine - including some LIST_TABLE tags.

So I guess I'm looking for help from a Word expert. How do I get rid of blank lines in the address section - say for example if there's no address2. Has anyone done this?

The way I would get around this was would be to build printed address attributes using rules. Then use these attributes in your Word doc. For example if address 2 is blank then printedaddress2 = city etc.

Yes I thought of that but was a bit concerned that it was going to end p in a word doc. I was searching the forum to try to find out how to put a carriage return in that Word would recognise (usually ASCII CHR(13))

I've a feeling if I try <br> it's just going to end up as addr<br>add2<br> etc etc

Not sure. But its not needed if you retain all the existing number of address lines. You wont get any blank ones as you will have taken care of that via your BO rules. I wasn't suggesting you create just one printable address line with embedded carriage returns. I have done mail drops and this is what I did and it worked ok. You may need to work on font size thats all if you are trying to fit into window envelopes. if you are emailing then of course no issue.
