Info on VPS godaddy

Hi . I am reading you have hosted your samples applications at godaddys with a dedicated server. My question is, in case I get a VPS service, which you say its a little slower but fine, what choices do I have to get with godaddy?. I see at godaddys that they have windows VPS but there is addons that refers to control panel, and specifically plesk pack deluxe which says has tomcat support. Do I need to get this pack to run AwareIM on the VPS? And Its a really big difference in performance between VPS and a dedicated server? Does the other users of the VPS can actually degrade the server performance? Thanks

Hi,

My personal experience with GoDaddy was not great support wise but perhaps others have had a better experience. I would note however that you probably don't need Plesk on your server and it is a resource hog so I would tend to go without it if you can. AwareIM is shipped with Tomcat and so you don't need Plesk in order to user AwareIM.

If you are concerned about performance, max out on RAM and get the best multi-processor that they offer.
