Compare 2 records and create a new record with the results

I am drawing a blank on how to best accomplish the following:

I have a single BO that has over 1,000 records. I have users that would like to identify a single record and then another record and have the differences between the records display as a separate record.

I am stumped on how to do this.

Has anyone crossed this bridge before?
