Using a Rule in a document tag

Business object NSCPers has any number of instances with the same attribute as may exist once in object UnitTable. The document creation is an operation on the main form for NSCPers.

I need to print data from both on the document.

<<IF Exists UnitTable Where (UnitTable.UnitCode=NSCPers.UnitCode)Then SHOW UnitTable.UnitName>>

The above produces 'syntax error at token "." (column 2)'. The rules book says any rule is acceptable except you must use "SHOW".

I don't expect the condition will always be true which is alright. There would just be a blank field on the document.

Any suggestions how to do this would be very appreciated.

In the design document work space I'm using the "tag element with expression" tool. I've taken everything from the drop down lists and have created this condition in the condition 1 frame

"Exists UnitTable Where(UnitTable.UnitCode = LoggedInRegularUser.LoginName)

In the "element" frame I selected "tag" and in the properties entered UnitTable.UnitName

All this is accepted without error. I know the condition to be true but still the element doesn't print on the document. I'm assuming the condition being true places UnitTable in the current context.

If the above does not work, try using a sub-report.

In the sub-report, put UnitTable.UnitName in the detail band, make all of the other bands height 0.

In the main document, in the definition of the sub-report you can put the query: UnitTable.UnitCode = LoggedInRegularUser.LoginName
