AwareIM Not Starting

Hello,

Firstly I am using an old version of AwareIM. I cannot tell which version I am using as the previous I.T person at our company left without providing me a password to access the Config tool.

AwareIM has been very very sloppy and slow lately. I am getting frequent crashes and down time - the server will just stop all of a sudden atleast once a week.

When logging in I get a "Connection with the server could not be established." error. I am running the server as a service and restarting the Tomcat and AwareIM service does not help. I have tried to stop the services and run the AwareIM Control Panel - everything starts except the AwareIM Server.

Upgrading to a newer AwareIM version is not possible at this point. Any help in stabilising the server and minimising the frequent crashes is appreciated.

When you start Aware IM as a Control Panel and the Aware IM Server doesn't start, check the version by clicking on the About button. Also check the output of the Aware IM Server by clicking on the View button next to the Aware IM Server entry. You need to find why the server doesn't start.

You didn't mention jBoss - did you stop that service also.

Restart should be in the order jboss, tomcat and finally AwareIM

Not sure whether this is relevent, but check the size of the Aware Wrapper.log file - it can get very large -It's ok to delete it once the
services are stopped
